The Lovely Letter Co. was born out of one simple idea... the world needs better cards.

When I lost my sister, the cards that arrived were kind — but they missed the mark. Each person meant well, but they all felt rehearsed and generic. So I started making my own.

I started designing the kind of cards that people would actually want to keep. The kind that would actually connect with people and meet them where they are. Ones that they'd hang on their fridge instead of throwing in the trash.

And the more I designed, the more I realized how many moments deserved better — grief, joy, hope, hard seasons, and everything in between.

The Lovely Letter Co. began with a personal loss. Today it's grown into something much bigger. Whatever moment brought you here, my hope is that you leave with something worth keeping.

  • Lizzie Ranasinghe, Founder and CEO

    Lizzie is the creative behind The Lovely Letter Co. After walking through her own season of loss, she realized the need for intentional and thoughtful card designs. Now she's on a mission to share meaningful artwork and resources that help people find hope in every season. Lizzie’s favorite design is “Nevertheless, She Chose Faith”, a phrase she’s carried with her through many seasons. Outside of The Lovely Letter Co., Lizzie enjoys reading, cooking, coffee, and traveling with her husband and their pup, Asha.

  • Sheran Ranasinghe, Advisor

    Sheran first became part of The Lovely Letter Co. when he built the display for the very first market. Since then, he’s been an important part of the work, offering steady support behind the scenes as the vision has grown.

    Sheran is a musician and storyteller at heart and loves having conversations about creativity and meaning. He is the host of The Creative Odyssey Podcast, where he explores how creativity can help people heal, reconnect with themselves, and live more intentionally. Outside of this work, he enjoys making music, documenting meaningful stories, and collaborating with other creatives.
