Meet Wood & Fire Designs

Allow me to introduce you to Wood and Fire Designs, a company that specializes in high quality wood products. This incredible business just so happens to be owned by my sweet husband, Sheran Ranasinghe.
When Sheran and I first met several years ago, we were just business collaborators. He was building his woodworking business and I was in the beginning stages of establishing The Lovely Letter Co. We connected on our passion for creativity. Sheran was a handy DIY-er and I was a self taught graphic designer; it was a natural collaboration.
At that time, Sheran was shifting his focus from building custom furniture to creating faith-based products that would encourage people in their everyday lives. He wanted to restructure his business so that it would better fit his lifestyle and passions.
With this newfound vision, his branding needed a little bit of an update - something that would better represent his vision and brand. So we took his original logo and did a little revamping.
Original Design:
My initial thoughts were that his original logo had a lot going on. There was very little cohesion and the elements (i.e. font, background, shapes) just seemed to fight each other. In addition, the shape of his logo offered little versatility (aka it was not appropriate for that IG icon) With all that said, each element was important to Sheran and his brand, so I got creative in making sure we could keep the elements but still meet his goals.
Rebranded Design:
I have to mention that while I was busy working on his logo, he was busy creating a display for my first market (yep, he was the mastermind for this project).
Sheran is an incredible human who is always up for a creative project (and I'm not just saying that since I'm married to him).
Fast forward to today and Sheran has added many more creative ventures to his list. From creating a youtube channel to hosting a weekly podcast and adding new products to his store, he's done it all. He's even the woodworker behind our new wood engraved products. He does all of this out of his passion and love for creativity.
